This location has scams occurring. First off they put $1000 hold on my credit card when their own rental agreement said it should be a $300 hold. Secondly, and most importantly, they demanded that I get liability insurance when in fact it is the law that rental companies in Ontario must carry basic liability insurance and it is not mandatory for the renter who has personal car insurance and an American Express platinum card that covers up to $75,000 damage. They indicated to me liability insurance was mandatory and if I did not pay the money for the liability insurance they would not rent me the car. I was stuck. I paid the money but filed a formal complaint with the headquarters in Indianapolis and the local franchise.
They didn’t gave me car. They have so many excuses already decided. They will not give you car if they think you have got good deal. They will then tell you to book at that time which would be expensive. Trust me, never go at this Ace place. You will be hanged at the end moment.
I received a dirty car. The original booking stated a Nissan Murano and I received a Kia Sorrento. And far from professional.
Hidden cost. While I had my own car insurance, I was forced to purchase “3rd party insurance” which was never mentioned during the online process. Double standards. When issuing the car, the inspection was cursory. When receiving the car, the team checked every speck. While it did not incur any charges, it would not have been uncommon to notice speck-scratches on the lower part of the vehicle from prolonged driving. Long Wait Time. Took me an hour to collect the car and 30mins to return. When collecting, the team went through lengths to tell me my insurance from WorldWide Travel Insurance was inadequate and subject me to purchase more. When returning, the speck-inspection took awhile and thus a longer than usual wait time.
Hidden fees, half tank gas , no le after drop off, rude staff
